Bottmedical secures CHF 1.1 million to prepare Swiss market entry
Basel, Switzerland. April 16, 2021. 15:30 CEST
Multiple private investors, both business and renowned dental experts, have contributed CHF 1.1 million to support Bottmedical’s market entry with the NaturAligner in Switzerland. The investment will also flow into growing the team and accelerating its European expansion.
NaturAligner by Bottmedical is a CE certified and patented clear aligner material system with a cellulose-based surface to align teeth in a more health-conscious and sustainable way. The NaturAligner allows for a high level of comfort and provides a gentle fit. Bottmedical's bio-based coating has shown neither toxicity nor crude-oil-based plasticizers.
Currently aligners are all made of crude oil-based plastics. They remain in the mouth up to 22h a day for several months. According to Bottmedical they pose a potential health risk as plastic has the property of being deposited in the body as micro and nano-plastics. The human body absorbs plastic particles remarkably quickly through the mucous membranes, for example, in the mouth.
This summer, Bottmedical will launch the first products in the NaturAligner line, including a care rinse. Thanks to the recently obtained seven-figure amount from multiple undisclosed investors, Bottmedical will kick off its market entry in Switzerland. The proceeds from the round will also allow for accelerating the scale-up implementation to expand into the European market and hire more employees.
